Quick Start Guide

Get started with SearchVector in just a few minutes! This guide walks you through the essential steps to set up your account and start tracking your SEO performance.

Step 1: Create Your Account

Creating a SearchVector account is free and requires no credit card.

  1. Visit searchvector.io
  2. Click "Get Started" or "Get Started Free"
  3. Click "Continue with Google" on the login page
  4. Select your Google account (or sign in if needed)
  5. Grant permission to access your profile information
  6. You're in! You now have access to the Free plan with 5,000 monthly credits

The free plan is perfect for trying out SearchVector. You can always upgrade to a paid plan when you're ready to scale.

Step 2: Set Up Your First Project

Projects are how you organize your work in SearchVector. Each project focuses on a specific website or domain.

  1. Log in to your SearchVector account
  2. Click Create New Project on the dashboard
  3. Enter your Website URL (e.g., www.example.com)
  4. Select your Industry/Niche to help SearchVector tailor recommendations
  5. Choose your Target Country for location-specific ranking tracking
  6. Click Create Project and you're ready to go!

You can create multiple projects on paid plans. The Free plan includes 1 project, Pro includes 2, and Growth includes up to 15 projects.

Step 3: Connect Your Integrations

Connect SearchVector to your existing tools to unlock advanced features and get a complete picture of your performance.

Recommended Integrations:

  • Google Search Console (GSC) - See your actual search queries and rankings
  • Google Analytics - Track traffic from search results
  • Google Ads - Monitor your paid search performance
  • Apple Search Ads - Track your app visibility in Apple's app store ads

To Connect:

  1. Go to Project Settings > Integrations
  2. Click Connect next to the service you want to integrate
  3. Authorize SearchVector to access your account (via OAuth)
  4. Select the properties or accounts you want to track
  5. Click Save and you're connected!

You'll need to grant SearchVector permission to read data from these services. Only your data is shared—SearchVector never posts content on your behalf.

Step 4: Add Keywords to Track

Keywords are the foundation of your SEO tracking. Add the keywords you want to monitor.

  1. Navigate to Rank Tracking in your project
  2. Click Add Keywords or Import Keywords
  3. Enter keywords manually (one per line) or upload a CSV file
  4. Select your tracking location and search engine (Google, YouTube, Amazon, etc.)
  5. Click Start Tracking to begin monitoring positions

Focus on 10-20 strategic keywords to start. You can always add more as you scale. Each keyword search uses credits from your monthly allocation.

Example keywords to track:

  • Primary keywords (high commercial intent)
  • Long-tail variations
  • Competitor keywords
  • Local keywords (if location-specific)

Step 5: Run Your First Audit

The Site Audit tool identifies technical issues, on-page problems, and opportunities to improve your search visibility.

  1. Go to Site Audit in your project
  2. Click Start New Audit
  3. SearchVector will crawl your website (this takes a few minutes)
  4. Review the audit report with issues organized by severity
  5. Check recommendations for fixing each issue

The audit report includes:

  • Critical Issues - Problems that directly impact SEO
  • Warnings - Items to review and potentially fix
  • Suggestions - Optimization opportunities
  • Passed Checks - Things you're doing right

Site audits are comprehensive and use a portion of your monthly credits. Most plans can run 4-8 audits per month depending on site size.

Step 6: Invite Team Members

Collaboration is built into SearchVector. Start working with your team right away.

  1. Go to Project Settings > Team Members
  2. Click Invite Team Member
  3. Enter the email address of the person you want to add
  4. Select their Role:
    • Admin - Full access to all features
    • Editor - Can edit keywords, add projects, view reports
    • Viewer - Read-only access to reports and data
  5. Click Send Invite
  6. They'll receive an email and can join your project

Your plan determines how many team members you can add. Free: 1, Pro: 3, Growth: 10, Custom: unlimited.
